Dubai - Baseball Tournament April, 2012

Our weekend in Dubai was filled with lots of laughter, fun, food and excitement. The baseball team finished with a record of 3-1. There were teams from Australia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Dubai. Cody had an awesome tournament. In two weeks, they will select the "travel team". This team will represent Saudi and will travel to Poland in July for the regional tournament. We're so blessed to be surrounded by an awesome group of parents and kids. Saturday, we enjoyed a day at the slopes. It was our first time ever and we had a blast!!

Dubai Baseball Tournament

Please keep us in your prayers as we travel to Dubai for Cody's baseball tournament. We're really looking forward to spending time with our Friends from Aramco. Hopefully, we'll have time to shop and do a little sight seeing. Good Luck, Codeman!!

Barcelona vs Ac Milan - Spring Break 2012

Cody and Jeremy enjoyed another soccer match (Barcelona vs AC Milan)! Final score Barca 3 - AC Milan 1!! I sent Jeremy with the camera however, the longer lens stayed at the Hotel :( He was able to capture some good shots. Thanks, Babe!

Devin and I had a date night. We spent our evening trying to find a great restaurant. We found quite a few however, they didn't open until 8 p.m. So we decided to walk to the bookstore. He found a couple of things that he couldn't live without. We were both getting hungry so we decided to go back to our Hotel and have a few tapas (appetizers). Since none of the Restaurants were serving dinner, just yet. After dinner we walked to the candy store. Made it back to the Hotel and enjoyed episodes of Ben Ten.

So the first soccer match we all went to I mentioned that we took the subway (to and from). Well, on the way home, the lines were super long. When we were able to finally squeeze into one.....two didn't make it. We were packed in like a bunch of sardines. Jeremy and Devin were left just waving goodbye (with smiles)! I was so furious but later realize it was the right thing for them to do. Okay, so Cody and I are heading back....and yes we know what station to exit. So not even five minuets into our trip the train makes an emergency stop. A message comes on in Spanish stating that theres been an emergency please step away from the doors. So my emotions went from being super mad to super scared. Looking outside all you see is black walls. A few minuets later, the same message comes on again.  Then the a/c shuts off. At this point, I'm just trying to hide my emotions from the Codeman. I'm telling the Gentlemen in front of the door to try to step away from the door. That was useless because he didn't know English. Now it's starting to get hot in the cab. When the a/c shut off so did the train. In my mind, I'm thinking this is all Jeremy's fault, we're going to be here for a while, people are going to start fighting and we're going to be in the middle of it. What seems like forever, in reality, it must have been eight minuets until we were finally on our way!!
Cody looks at me and says, "Atta boy, Thomas....I knew you could do it"!
I didn't know if I should laugh or cry!!
Talking about an emotional roller coaster ride!!

Trip to the Local Market - Spring Break 2012

We enjoyed walking thru one of the largest markets in Barcelona. We hit it pretty early because we were concerned about the smell. I must say it was very clean and wasn't smelly, at all.  It was walking distance from our Hotel.

Spring Break 2012 Coming to an End.........

Our last day in Barcelona it rained and it was cold. For lunch, we went back to the court yard to enjoy some great Italian food. Even though it was a little rainy we sat outside. Cody enjoyed a calzone with pepperoni and lots of cheese. Devin had spaghetti and his kids dessert. We had to ask for extra forks so that we could share the "kids" dessert!!
Guys,  thank you so much for the awesome memories!!

Spring Break 2012 Barcelona, Spain

What a great way to start off your day...none other than a cup of American coffee con leche. It was the best tasting cup of coffee I've ever had! Trust me I've had a few!! The boys started their days with chocolate strawberry crepes served with vanilla ice cream. Meanwhile, for breakfast I enjoyed the "free" breakfast at our hotel.

After breakfast, Cody and I headed to the fish spa. I had to see for myself what the hype was all about! Really......I don't think my feet have ever felt so soft!! It was so relaxing and the results were amazing! At first, the little nibbles tickled to the point that you want to move your feet. Than you just get use to it.

Later that evening, we enjoyed a great dinner followed by an awesome Flamenco show. I was a little concerned about Devin not being interested. However, he surprised us! I'm not sure if he even blinked during the entire entertainment. Later that night, when we arrived at the Hotel he had to put on a show. He started off with the claps followed by the stomping of the feet. Way to go, Devin!!

After the show, we walked to a courtyard near by. The kids had ice cream and purchased a "sling shot" toy. As you can see, Cody and Jeremy had to challenge the vendor. It was close but Jeremy's sling shot toy went up the furthest. We had to purchase a few because some landed in palm trees and others just broke. It was great entertainment for an hour....that's for sure!! The boys missed another hat opportunity......they drew a crowd!
