Portland, Indiana Summer 2010

We had a fabulous summer!! To top it off we flew to Indiana to visit Grandad and Grandmother Banta. Who had just celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary! WOW, what a blessing!! They are both an inspiration and an example of what marriage is all about.  We also got a taste of the "camping" life (ha) because Aunt Suzie brought her beautiful mobile home and we got to sleep in it a night.  Cody and Devin thought they were big stuff getting to stay in it.

Tractor Show in Indiana

Over summer vacation we got to take a trip up to Indiana to see G-Dad and G-Mother Banta and Aunt Suzie.  In Portland, it happened to be the "huge" annual Tractor-engine show at fairgrounds so we all got out and spent the day at the fairgrounds.  It was amazing to see all of the old equipment and machinery.  Not sure who had more fun, G-Dad or Devin.  Devin is amazed with tractors and equipment and loves his "Diggers".  Everyone had a blast.  We got a golf cart and Pa drove everyone around wherever they needed to go.  We could have gone days and days without seeing everything.   It was a special trip and great memories to have.

It's a small world after all }

When we moved to Kingwood Jeremy was in search of a Barber. At the time Cody was just 2 and didn't like hair cuts......at all. One of our neighbors recommended the Grand Slam. That is where we meet our dear friend Marty. He was so kind to actually come to our house to cut Cody's hair. We thought that Cody would do better in the comfort of his own room. And he did!  Jeremy recommended "his Barber" to Pa. It turns out that Pa and Marty know each other from the early 70's! They both lived in Nashville and played in the same band. Who would of thought that Pa would reunite with one of his dearest friends in Kingwood. Pa only lets the BEST cut his hair. It had been over a year since his last haircut, with Marty. He finds himself, after 10 years, still making house calls!
Marty, Thank You So Much For All That You Do.....Love Ya!
