Work in Saudi

Add Video
I have completed my first week in Saudi (Al-Jubail) and overall it was very similiar to my previous international work......lot's of interesting challenges but obviously good people who are all trying to work towards a common cause. One challenge with working on international assignments is the different cultures and uniqueness of each. I have direct reports who are U.S., Saudi, Indian, Candadian, and Pakistane. Compound life here is pretty simple and pretty much have to stay in compound except going back and fourth to work and occasional trip to the grocery store which I did last night to get out. Quite an experience but they do have basic things that I would get at home. I will work through this weekend and hopefully have all of my Saudi Visa permit work completed where I can exit the country and go to Bahrain next Wed. All of our travel in country is in BPV (Bullet Proof Vehicles) which is extra precautionary measure by Chevron. More Later. Jeremy

  1. Hey There!!! I am so glad to hear from ya'll. What a cool life experience for you. Keep us posted - I like the blog idea! We were 18 below zero this morning. The Texas dog has had issues with going outside to take care of business and this Texas Girl is staying inside my cozy and warm new house. Sure do miss you guys and the neighborhood.
    Love,

  2. Hey Jeremy, Letty, Cody and Devin,

Seems from your blog that you're off to a quick start and have a lot set-up already. Let us know your address once settled and you have time. Do they have Sushi there? If so, then we'll consider visiting. Sorry to hear of Devin's teething & cold. Sounds like Cody is involved already in sports, I can't imagine showing up and playing in games, practice and starting school right away. Hope the transition goes well for all. Jeremy, hope work is good and challenging. I can imagine that you'll meet lots of folks there in compound with many commonalities. Exciting to begin such an adventure. We really miss you guys already!

    Need to stay in touch!

    Love & prayers,
Gregory & Bolivia and the girls
